General Description of the Programme:

GOAL an International Humanitarian Organisation has had a presence in Turkey since 2013 and has been contributing to the migrant response since 2016 with a focus on responding to needs in health service delivery, social safety nets and the protection of vulnerable and marginalised migrants in southern Turkey.

 

GOAL has been working in Syria since 2013, responding to the acute needs of conflict-affected communities. GOAL is working in Idleb Governate, both through direct implementation and through partners, delivering food, non-food programming to highly vulnerable populations, and provision of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) through support to Water units, as well as emergency support to recently displaced households.

Job purpose:

 

This position will be primarily responsible for conducting individual case management for the targeted population in emergency response and conduct psychosocial support activities.

 

Duties, objectives and competencies

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessment interviews combined with the FSL, and emergency Verification team, and draft relevant reports to assess the needs of the target population (IDPs, host community).
  • Respond to any allegations of violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect committed against children.
  • Carry out service mapping with a view to identifying relevant and functional services in GOAL’s operational area.
  • Identify any protection cases of concern and register each case in accordance with the Protection Cluster guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures. This also refers to any suspected, witnessed or reported case of safeguarding within GOAL or other humanitarian players in GOAL’s operational area.
  • Make timely referrals of any protection cases identified to and coordinate appropriate response to the case with partner organisations and services as per the Protection Cluster referral guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Follow up on and monitor each individual referred protection case within the terms and timelines recommended by the Protection Cluster referral guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Accompany the protection case individuals to external appointments with service providers when necessary.
  • Update records and preparing periodic reports on caseload.
  • Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

 

  • Support the programme teams as deemed necessary.
  • Ensure Case Management is implemented in-line with GOAL Global and GOAL Syria policies and procedures and adhere to donor requirements and guidelines.

Requirements (desired)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Educational Background:

Psychology, Sociology, Pedagogy, Protection, Human Rights, and other related studies. A higher education degree such as Master or other will be seen as an advantage.

Essential:

  • 1 -3 years of previous relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly vulnerable groups
  • Awareness about the security context.
  • Able to work effectively within a team and/or individually
  • Well organized with strong time-management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Shares GOAL vision and values

Language:

Proficiency in Arabic written and spoken.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with referrals system and with Protection Cluster Guidelines and SOPs.
  • Previous experience working with NGOs.
  • Proficiency in English written and spoken.
