People in Need is looking for a (Access Officer)– for its Syria/Turkey Mission/Based in Aleppo / Azaz

Access officer (AO) is responsible for supporting and reporting the Access Officer regarding all matters relating to access within the field office they have been assigned. AO carries out their allocated tasks as listed below and reports directly to the access Officer of Turkey


Main responsibilities (summary):


·         Carry out all the duties and tasks as defined below, or as instructed by the SO, or Area Coordinator.

·         Communicate access-related information to and from the SO following pre-defined communication channels.

·         Maintains the communication channel between field officers (Education, Capacity Building, Programmes etc) at all times.

·         Ensures regular visits from Access Team to the villages and cities where PIN works in Syria

·         Supervising AA & the guards’ tasks.

·          Monitor the keeping the rules, the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Contingency Plans (CPs) preparedness and inform the SO and the Area Coordinator of any shortcomings or necessary changes to the procedures

·         Coordinate with the AA to regularly check the state of all equipment necessary for access at the field office and in case of shortages, follow up with the SO and the Area Coordinator

·         Provide up-to-date and accurate access-related information and analysis to the SO and Regional Coordinator

·         Coordinate the trainings of First Aid and the civil defense in Syria with the help of SO in Turkey.

·         Sending the daily movement schedules, rosters, checklists reports.

·         Helping the SO preparing the contingency plan, and evacuation plan.

·         Monitoring the first aid and the hibernation kits.

·         Checking the sites for the office and the warehouses.

·         CRM and Money transfer.

·         Monitoring and report the staff movement cross the border and report every movement cross the border.


Education and experience:


·         University degree in international relations, social sciences, statistics, or other related fields preferably (e.g. economics, sociology, social work, psychology, law and human rights, etc);

  • Liaising and coordinating with Syrian civil society organizations
  • At least 2 years’ experience with NGOs.
  • Proficient in word, excel, power point, Skype and social networks;





Candidates should have a strong commitment towards humanitarian relief and disaster operations. It is of utmost priority that candidates understand, respect and act in the spirit of the mandate and core humanitarian values. The candidate must possess a high level of professional and personal maturity together with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers and external partners, namely CSOs. Candidates must be able to interact with sensitivity with all stakeholders respecting diversity and gender. A capacity for working under pressure is essential, as work is often in difficult and demanding conditions, where the focus frequently shifts due to changes in priority. The candidate is expected to have excellent analytical and communicative skills, show initiative and take both a hands-on and an analytical approach to tasks and problems.
