Senior PROGRAM Manager - GAZIANTEP / TuRKEY

Job Summary:**

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for project-related tasks both in the country and within the region, providing support and guidance to program implementation, development, design, and strategy. The Senior Role will work in close collaboration with the Regional management team (Country Director, the Regional Representative, and the HQ-based Program Manager) in the development of potential local and regional partnerships, developing the annual program implementation work plan, and managing the performance against objectives and indicators. S/he will also connect with other initiatives in the region.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Program Management (30%)

§ In close collaboration with the program managers to monitor performance against program goals based on the development of annual implementation work plan

§ Manage national and regional project approval processes and reporting

§ Ensure projects programming reflects an up-to-date understanding of socio-economic context, donor trends, needs and gaps, and who does what and where.

§ Provide technical leadership in efforts to promote strategic program innovation, coordination, and harmonization across regional initiatives

§ Serve as project lead on specific local, national, and regional initiatives, including those that enhance projects sustainability strategy

§ Ensure that external capacity-building structures and training activities align with organization strategies

§ In collaboration with program manager, contribute to the design, improvement, and maintenance of program data systems

§ Manage assigned budgets in accordance with Organization Finance Policies and Protocols, including expense projections, tracking, monitoring, and reconciliation

External Relations (20%)

§ Open channels of communications with national and international organizations in order to get funds for supporting and implementations the projects

§ Serve as a focal point program events, including commemorations, observances, exchange visits, information sessions, program monitoring visits, and workshops/conferences, and establishing formal relationships with line ministers and government agencies.

§ Coordinate efforts to identify potential partners to expand donors’ network, to develop formal and informal collaborations.

§ Lead efforts to identify and develop strategic partnership opportunities and a comprehensive partner network in collaboration with the regional and in-country leadership team.

Fundraising and Program Development (30%)

§ Coordinate in-country and regional performance and needs assessments to evaluate current and prospective programming and issue findings and recommendations

§ Identify and propose new opportunities for program development in line with organization mission, objectives, and partnerships

§ Assist in the development of prospective program budgets, workplans, timelines, and other supporting documents for grant applications

Team Leadership & Management (10%)

§ Provide administrative supervision to the field-based Monitoring and Evaluation Manager. In close collaboration with Headquarters program staff, coordinate time and assignments to ensure achievement of goals.

§ Model and implement best practices in staff well-being.

Other Duties (10%)

§ Participate in other department and organization-wide activities, meetings and trainings. Complete administrative responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

§ ·business administration or related field, e.g. health programs management

§ 5-year experience in relevant management and supervisory experience in an international or national non-governmental organization.

§ Familiarity and knowledge with private, US government, UN and multi-lateral funders.

§ Demonstrated success in all areas of program management, including donor proposal development, implementation, project monitoring and evaluation.

§ Flexibility, adaptability and sensitivity to working in a complex environment.

§ Strong participatory leadership skills.

§ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

§ Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.

§ Excellent skills in organization, attention to detail and time management.

§ Fluency in English. Arabic language skills highly desirable.

§ Interest in and commitment to human rights
