Relief International is registered NGO in Turkey and is based in Gaziantep to build capacities of Syrian communities to respond their needs in health, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and education. Relief International is currently seeking candidates to be employed as Deputy Finance Manager in Gaziantep as soon as possible. 


Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Community Health and Hygiene Promotion Team Leader, the CHW will act as the front line of the health services of RI in the specified locations providing health awareness, hygiene promotion, and psychosocial support sessions to the vulnerable population based on the trainings and continuous support from the program management and RI health facitities.


Position Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Health, Hygiene, Psychosocial awareness:

1.      Coordinate with CHW&HP Field Assistant and RI staff regarding CHW&HP activities and responsibilities.

2.      Disseminate health, hygiene promotion, and psychosocial awareness to community members at the services providing locations, by conducting home visits, giving group education events, and/or performing outreach in the community.

3.      Actively attend the teams weekly meetings and effectively share updates and information with the team leaded by the team leader and commit to weekly schedule and the education sessions topics and curriculum.

4.      Act as the link between RI staff and the affected population at community level by reporting community comments or complaints, and by spreading information and performing community mobilization.

5.      Help identify key health  practices to be addressed and help to plan and carry out appropriate activities to promote safe practices, including:

a.      Communication activities such as community meetings, educational events, use of IEC materials, etc….

b.      Ensure that these activities are conducted to a high standard and are in line with RI’s organizational ethics and code of conduct.

c.      Encourage the participation of community members throughout health promotion activities.

d.      Use resources effectively and with care.

·        Training:

1.      Actively participate in RI’s trainings on health, hygiene promotion, and psychosocial support topics. And any other required training.

2.      Participate in M&E activities for impact measurement assessment when applicable (surveys, FGD, interviews, community organizing etc.).

·        Reporting:

1.      Work under direct supervision of the CHW&HP team leader in order to report information, attend training, and receive instructions regarding activities in the local community.

2.      Collect basic demographic data on the community, including trends related to health and social service needs.

3.      Gather data and report it to the team leader on a daily basis as well as during periodic surveys and help feedback findings to stakeholders and the community.

4.      Inform the team leader about any proposed change, update, or any related information

5.      Record data on routine activities and Health conditions and forward it to the team leader.

6.      Reporting on evolving needs in the community, gaps in service access, and trends among targeted populations relevant to program implementation.

7.      Establish community mapping, links with other services and referral mechanisms

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education

1.      Minimum of Baccalaureate

2.      Basic knowledge of health, teaching, or community development preferable.

·        Experience

1.      Working in the field of teaching, training, or educating of community development topics is preferable.

2.      Working in the field of community health, hygiene promotion, or psychosocial support is an advantage.

  • Specific requirements for the position
